ensuring that 11th February will, as of this year, be commemorated
as the International Day for Women and Girls in Science, greatly
thanks to RASIT’s groundwork and preparations.

This initiative materialised following the adoption of a United
Nations resolution on 22nd December 2015. In commemoration of
the Day for Women and Girls in Science, I call on the governments
of the world to provide adequate visibility to women and girls in the
different science fields thus encouraging gender equality in this
field in which women continue to be significantly underrepresented.
