SDG 1 aims to achieve a world without poverty. However, today, poverty is complicated by the the advancements of technology, such as automation. For example, the House of Fraser in the UK has closed down because customers are now shopping online; now, many businesses are closing down stores because there is no demand for them. This, however, affects the livelihoods of all those working with them. Now, hundreds of people are without jobs, and this number is growing every day. This is extremely problematic, as how can we end poverty if people are without jobs?
In some countries, however, technology could be of importance to reduce unemployment and end poverty.
What are your thoughts on this issue and how can we use technology and science to create more jobs (which can, in turn, lead a family out of the cycle of poverty)?
