Women have played a significant role in science throughout the past 4,000 years, but have been continuously placed in the shadows of men who surrounded them. There have been many women scientists in all fields, very often relegated to footnotes in history.
The Logo, designed by Bilal Wazir, shows that great women in science who initially paved the way for those who come later in every walk of life will encourage girls to see women role models in order to find the inspiration to enter into science. The Logo color shows equality, equity and parity of science, and that science belongs to all citizens, male or female, rich or poor, young or old.

Logo Permission

Ownership of the logo remains with the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT). It can be used without permission in its entirety and without amendment to promote the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and other related outreach work as needed.

Logo Execution

Do not color, re-proportion or change the logotype in any way. The International Day of Women and Girls in Science logo must not be reduced in size to less than 50 mm (width) as the text legibility will deteriorate.

Positioning Other Logos

When positioning the International Day of Women and Girls in Science logo alongside other organizational logos, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science logo should be placed on the left so as to produce an equally balanced group of logos. There must however be no less than 15 mm between the International Day of Women and Girls in Science logo and any other logo.
